Side note: When you come to the turbines, take your time. I did mine at the very first store, the save point just before entering the freeze rooms, and at the very first room in the Ishimura. Buy the advanced suit the second you can. Don't upgrade your health much because you will die in one-two hits regardless of how many nodes you waste on it. Abuse it (esp the alt fire mode) at the end, the ammo is cheap and it destroys big enemies and crowds efficiently. Towards the last third of the game, max the Javelin Gun out. Max out stasis ASAP and throughout the game get a few upgrades for the Pulse Rifle to make it OK in a life or death situation.

Max out the Plasma Cutter damage ASAP and get a few other QOL upgrades for it like reload speed and capacity.Ībuse stasis on tougher enemies and practice finding a spot in each horde room that you can defend relatively easily. Instead, use it to snipe the Raptors when they peek their heads out or charge you.Įarly on when you hit stores, you will want to store a pack of Plasma Cutter/Javelin Gun ammo and a medkit, then sell everything else to buy nodes. Get the Javelin gun early but don't upgrade it until the end. Use Plasma Cutter for most stuff and the Pulse Rifle for Kids, Crowd Control, and Tentacles. I would recommend taking the Plasma cutter, Pulse Rifle, and Javelin Gun. The things that killed me the most were not in fact enemies most of the time, but insta-kill objects.

It's definitely doable, and with proper tactics, ammo conservation, and stasis, you can get through it without too much hassle.

Dead space 2 difficulty differences
